The COVID-19 Fingal Community Response Team are organising a Short Story/Poetry Competition for Seniors from Fingal over the age of 55 Cocooning during COVID-19.
We are looking for a short story 500 to 1500 words / or a poem – that evokes a memory of a moment in time or an event that was special to you and connects in some way to what is happening in Ireland today, or a story / poem about your experiences during the COVID-19 lock down. It can be fiction or can tell your story.
These weeks of isolation and cocooning have given us all time to remember and reflect. You may be thinking of the years gone by maybe, you are having memories of things that you thought you had forgotten. Why not capture them in a short story or poem and also give yourself something creative to do with the time you have on your hands. Don’t worry the competition is about the story and not the right english or spelling you use! So why not get those creative juices flowing, you will be surprised at how enjoyable it will be!
You can send your entries on or before the 15th of June 2020 to :
